African Mahogany
African Mahogany is found in all timber producing areas of West Africa. Its colour is reported to change from
light punish brown to a dark reddish shade.
This timber is ideal for windows, doors, furniture and moldings, as it is easily workable and stable. |

Afromosa
Afromosia is reported to be rare and is found in Cameroon and the Ivory Coast.
The source of the timber is strictly controlled. The colour can be described as a warm crimson-brown,
lightened by bands of a bright golden brown shade. Afromosia has remarkable stability and is likened to teak.
It is ideal for use in the manufacture of windows, doors, furniture and counter tops. |

Alder
The growth range of alder in reported to extend from South Eastern Asia to Southern California. Alder has a reddish-brown colour.
Alder is used for flooring, ceiling and general cabinetry. |

Ash White
White Ash is found in abundance in North America and in Europe.
However it must be noted that the European Ash is slightly darker in colour than the American Ash.
The heartwood is pale brown, grayish brown or pale yellow streaked with brown.
The colour may also be cream to very light brown with a reddish fringe.
Ash is a durable timber and relatively stable after machinery.
It can be used in the furniture and joinery trade. |

Beech White
Beech comes from Europe. Beech is a pale yellow to light tan with distinctive and characteristic dark specks.
It is a hard, straight-grained, textured wood with great strength.
Works well with hand and machine tools, and can be use for furniture, chairs, carving and flooring. |

Bubinga (African Rosewood)
Bubinga is found in Cameroon Zaire and the Ivory Coast and comes from an environmentally responsible, managed resource.
The heartwood is medium red-brown in colour with lighter red or purple veins.
Bubinga is use mainly in the furniture trade and is also ideal for counter tops and cupboard doors. |

Cambara (Jaboty) Fixed Widths
Cambara comes from Venezuela, the Amazon Basin and Guiana.
Cambara is pale pink-brown to purplish-brown with a relatively straight grain.
Cambara is ideal for use in floors, cabinetry, furniture and moldings.
Provided Cambara is properly dried it has very good stability after machining. |

Cherry
Cherry comes from a sustainable managed resource in America and is widely used in the furniture trade, because of the
absence of gum or pockets and streaks, pin knots and fissures.
Its colour varies from a reddish brown to a dark red. It must be noted that be boards tend to have significant
colour variations and is susceptible to U.V. light which causes quick colour changes.
Cherry is used predominantly in the furniture trade and also for cabinet making. |

Iroko
Iroko is found primarily in Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and the Cameroon’s.
It is a commonly used timber as it resembles teak but is a cheaper substitute.
The heartwood is golden-orange to brown in colour. Properly seasoned timber is reported to be dimensionally
stable and retains its shape well after manufacture.
Iroko can be used externally and is suitable for doors and windows. |

Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry)
Jatoba has a russet to reddish brown colour with dark stripes or streaks.
The timber is found in Central and Tropical South America.
Jatoba is hard, heavy and tough and is ideal for furniture and flooring. |

Makore (Douka or African Cherry)
Makore comes from Tropical West Africa and has a reddish-brown colour.
The timber is fine and straight grained.
Makore can be used for furniture, interior millwork and exterior applications. |
